![]() The Library Media Center is available for research, reading, study, and quiet tutoring. We welcome all students during our regular library hours. We have many books, periodicals, and computers with internet access to help you with your research projects. Students are welcome during class hours with a pass from their teacher or the office staff to be able to do so. We ask, however, that students do not use the computers for games or music during class hours unless their teacher has given them a specific pass allowing them free computer access time. The Library Media Center is an enjoyable place to study and read. If there are titles or authors which you would like to read, please fill out a “recommendation form” available at the circulation desk. And if you have any questions about the MHS Libray, please contact our media specialist, Candy Kelley. ![]() Accelerated Reading (AR) is a supplementary program used at Mogollon High School and all over the country to provide guided independent reading practice and improve reading skills. Students select a book on their reading level from the AR List, read the book, and take an AR Quiz to test their comprehension of the book. MHS provides students with specified times during the regular school day to devote to AR. The library is open during AR for checking books in and out and reading. We ask that students use the computers during this time for the precise purpose of locating books. This is not a time for students to complete other classroom work. ![]() Books MHS assigns each student a bar code number for checking out books and other materials. If the student user owes for lost or damaged materials, or has an overdue book, the user will lose all checkout privileges until the student pays the fine or he/she returns the book.
If, due to a research project, a student has a need for additional items, he/she may contact Ms. Janice Squire to see if they may borrow additional items. Periodicals Students can check out one current periodical overnight. We encourage them to read current periodicals during lunch or on a hall pass. They may make copies of desired articles, pictures, etc. if they would like to. In order to insure that periodicals will be available for research, students may use closed periodicals only in the library. ![]() In order to allow students and faculty access to all library media center material, we ask that students return all books and materials by the due date. Although we do not charge students for overdue books, we expect them to return materials promptly. We will charge users for lost or damaged books and materials. |
